Finding the right balance between economy and ecology has become a key issue for modern companies. Both are very important and neither should be neglected in favour of the other.

Toshiba understands this need and with the Hybrid MFPs we have systems which not only offer a perfect balance, but also easily integrate into existing networks and workflows. This makes our systems the perfect ambassador for a greener office.

To be able to see the big picture you need to consider all aspects of modern document workflows. The Hybrid MFP does just that. By keeping in mind the requirements today’s businesses have, Toshiba has managed to develop a system that not only increases the efficiency and has economic advantages, it also has impressive environmental benefits.

The Hybrid MFP is a fully-fledged multifunctional system, equipped with Toshiba's unique hybrid print technology. It easily integrates into existing networks and offers a large range of optional solutions to increase the efficiency of your modern document workflow. Enjoy the sophisticated functionality of our system, which lets you print, scan, copy, fax  and erase.

What makes the Hybrid MFP unique is that it not only creates regular monochrome prints, but also uses special blue toner, which can be de-colourised. By applying heat to the documents the toner is erased and the paper can be used again and again. Need a sample calculation? Simply by using your paper five times you can already reduce your paper consumption by 80% without needing to print less. This 80% reduction in paper consumption is economically and ecologically beneficial.

The paper reusing device (PRD) – e-STUDIO RD301 – is an option which offers additional features when erasing the toner. Equipped with a single pass duplex scanner it can convert your documents into electronic files so that you can archive them and have access to the information whenever you need it. This scanner also automatically sorts the erased paper into reusable and non-reusable paper and places it in the respective output cassette.

Reduce – Reuse – Recycle

It goes without saying that Toshiba uses resources as efficiently as possible when planning and manufacturing its products and the 3Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle – have become a second nature to us. Now we have transferred the idea behind the 3Rs to the usage of our systems.

Until now, when dealing with paper, offices were limited to reducing their paper consumption and/or recycling paper to contribute to a greener tomorrow. While both options are valid ways to be environmentally conscious, they leave a gap which the Hybrid MFP can now fill.

There are already various ways to reduce the amount of paper used. One example for this is duplex printing. Nevertheless, some things just have to be printed if you want to work effectively. Many of these documents are thrown away after only a few hours (think of all the pages you print to proof-read or as a reminder to do something). Recycling this paper is definitely a good idea. But it is even more ecological to reuse this paper.

Saving more than paper

Besides cutting your cost for paper, reducing your paper consumption has significant environmental benefits, too. It means that less resources, such as fibre and water are used for the same amount of documents printed. In today’s world in which natural resources are valuable and limited this has a great impact.

But the Hybrid MFP is not only about saving resources. You can now actively reduce the CO2 footprint of your company when installing one of our systems. Over the entire life cycle of an MFP it is the paper – not the manufacturing, transport or usage – which accounts for the largest part of the CO2 emission. Therefore, by reducing your paper consumption you also reduce CO2 emissions.

To calculate the exact amount of paper and thus CO2 you can save you need to consider may different factors. To get a detailed analysis for your business please contact us. It will be our pleasure to analyse your individual savings for you.
